Colorado Shipping part 1

The First week we always bring the cows off the forest permit. I love this weekend because we are up by the lone cone and everything is so pretty! There are so many aspen trees up there and they are always yellow, red, and orange. It is such a great experience for my kids to out there with their amazing aunts and uncles and cousins! I am so grateful for this lifestyle.

School!

I can't believe that I have 2 kids in all day school! Jake started 1st grade this year, his teacher is Mrs. Monson. Ave started 3rd Grade, and her teacher is Mrs. Helquist. Ads also went back to Mrs. Lanas and loves her! She was also supposed to go to the elementary preschool but after a month she decided that she wanted to drop out and only go to Mrs. Lanas school.

Lake Powell

My sister Kristen and brother in law Bill came for the fair and brought their boat down too. We packed up after the fair and went to Lake Powel. It was so much fun! The water was warm and all the kids wanted to do is jump in and swim. They did a little knee boarding and tubing, the adults did a little wakeboarding, but we did a lot of swimming. It was awesome because it wasn't very busy that day and so we were able to just hang out and not worry about to many other boats. On our way back to the marina we almost ran out of gas which was a little scary......but don't worry we made it! I hope we do this every summer.......that is if there is any water in Lake Powell. I was doing some wakeboarding and crashed hard core, my ear hurt for a little bit but I didn't think much of it but on the drive home I was in tears.......it hurt so bad! Turns out that I had ruptured my ear drum and it gave me sympathy for my kids when they have an ear ache!

rodeo

The family rodeo is one of my favorite parts of the fair. It is dang funny to watch everyone try and pile on one horse and all the other things they do. The kids rodeo was fun this year too. Jake and Gavin did mutton bustin, and Ave did the poles and won first place. She won like $50.

Pigs

The fair is always a good time, this year it was a little stressful though. Only about 3 pigs were big enough that we knew they were going to make it.......the rest were right on the border. Well I think 4 ended up not making weight, which is a total bummer! Ave and Jakes pigs barely made it. They did an awesome job showing them though, and Aves pig even got 1st reserve. It was a lot of fun because my parents made the trek down for the fair and so did Kristen and Bill and their kids. We played hard and were all worn out by weeks end.
